Free Roam turns Hajin into a map you can read at your own speed. There's no story task pushing you from one marker to the next, so you can spend a match learning the roads, checking sightlines and deciding which areas feel worth the risk. It's a good fit for a quiet first run, especially if you want to see how the northern border settlements connect before taking on busier fights. Mirae General Hospital and Songdo Wharf offer a gentler start, while the Haneul Nuclear Reactor is a far more dangerous stop. If you're weighing solo exploration against a busier session, MW4 Bot Lobbies offers another point of comparison before you decide how to spend your time.

Choose Your Drop Before You Deploy

Open DMZ from the main menu and enter the Forward Operating Base. Head to the Deploy Station, marked by the heavy transport helicopter, to set up the match. Choose Free Roam instead of an active faction order or a Dynamic Operation, then select an insertion method. A standard ground insertion suits a careful start: you can check your bearings before moving out. There's no need to rush through the menus. Decide what kind of run you want-a slow sweep for supplies, a trip toward a high-risk location, or a route that lets you leave if the area gets crowded. A little planning saves time and gives the session direction without turning it into another mission list.

Pack for a Flexible Run

Before leaving the base, visit the Loadout Station and check your selected Active Duty Operator. Bring weapons you can handle at close and medium range, along with a plate carrier and backpack suited to the length of your run. You don't have a task telling you where to go, so flexibility matters more than gear built for one specific fight. A quick area comparison can help: Mirae General Hospital is a calmer place to search; Songdo Wharf is another lower-threat option for exploring; the Haneul Nuclear Reactor is a high-risk destination, best approached when you're ready for tougher resistance. Imjin Farmland, Deadtown and Chang San Air Base offer different reasons to keep moving, from opening containers to gathering useful materials or facing hostile forces.

Set Your Own Pace and Plan the Exit

Once you're inside the Exclusion Zone, make your own route and keep an eye on how much you're carrying. Containers, supply caches and defeated enemies can add to your DMZ Player Level and DMZ Cash, but there's little point in filling your pack if you can't reach an exit safely. If a fight draws attention or your plates are running low, change course; Free Roam gives you room to leave early. When you've gathered enough, head for an exfil chopper and take out what you've secured. If you're comparing relaxed exploration with a more hectic session, CoD Modern Warfare 4 Bot Lobbies can be part of that decision, but Hajin rewards patience: know your route, take only the fights you want and keep an exit in mind.
